Some time ago Skidder moved from the Campus to Vevida. We still aim to supply the same rogue opinions and quotes as we did the past years.
Also, the Dungeons & Dragons section should be operational shortly. Bear with us as other parts of the site are still not fully operational.
My workstation broke down so I'm doing some work via X11 forwarding on Skidder. If the webpage loads slowly I might be running Matlab models. Sorry.
Have a look at http://www.meimei-art.nl to find some inner peace.
As of today we have a gigabit connection both on the external (CampusNet) and internal (opeNet) interface. We ran some tests and speeds of over 44 megabytes per second were achieved.
We now run Ubuntu 7.04 with a new kernel which fixes some stability issues, Apache2, PHP5 and MySQL5. Other than that, not much has changed.
We now offer mean value analysis of the Terminal Model.
A picture gallery can be found at http://skidder.student.utwente.nl/gallery. Why don't you go and have a look?
As of today we have 700 quotes in our repository. Also, our quotes are available as an XML service at http://skidder.student.utwente.nl/skidder_qotm.php.
We now have over 650 quotes! Furthermore, the DnD Managment tool is now used by three campaigns.
I am building a Dungeons and Dragons campaign management system (can be found under 'games') which should streamline designing, running and playing the campaign for both DM and players.
Seems the functionality for users to add quotes is greatly appreciated by many, as I get many new quotes per day. Great! Some new functionality implemented is the ability to list quotes by language, and I have moved the cpu-intensive statistics to a seperate page to reduce load on the MySQL server.
After some twenty minutes of development it is finally here: Skidder's new and exciting feature, allowing users to add a quote! Your quote will then be considered for inclusion in the list. Feel free to add you favourite quote, but please no plagiarism.
Check out the quotes section to have a look at the latest additions! Also, enjoy the random 'quote-of-the-moment' feature
The first steps have been made to equip Skidder with a news system which in the future should be able to provide any onlookers with possibly interesting information wich might or might not one day save their lives. Next step will be to edit the php sources to show one news item on the main page (most recent probably) and add a news feature. Using this news system you will be updated on future interesting developments which might interest you.
With the browser from Redmond being used by over 95% of the internet population the web-building community has degraded to one where it does not matter how bad your programming sucks, the IE browser will suck and swallow and spit out something that does not even look too bad. But there are standards for something like writing webpage code. And without adhering to those standards you limit your audience. Why are there standards... well how else can you communicate? These standards are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium. Together with Jochem, student Informatics here at the UT I set out on an experiment to research the state of present-day web developers. read more
